You can use sweet potatoes or yams for this recipe. At 4-6 months our baby will enjoy pureed foods. I made all of Madie's food myself. I just felt better about knowing what she was getting. You can give this to on its own or blend with a few other pureed foods such as carrots, green beans, pears, banana, and a little oatmeal cereal. Freeze some so you don't have to make this again in a few weeks.

Ingredients
- 2 whole sweet potatoes, skin removed and cut into 1” pieces or Yams
- 1 TBSP. breast milk Optional
Servings: meals
Instructions
- Rinse your potatoes and dice them into small cubes.
- Start a pot of boiling water and add your cubed potatoes.
- If you stick a fork into the potato and it feels very soft, then they are ready to be drained and mashed.
- Use a hand mixer or potato masher to mash the potatoes until smooth.
- At each serving, you can add in your breast milk to give it more nutrients and make it creamier or water with formula if you don't have breast milk.
- Use a baby spoon and feed your baby the ounces your doctors recommend.
- Yummy!
- Puréed yams
- Mixing your veggies and fruits. Change it up! I have never bought Gerber or any pre-made baby foods but I would get ideas by looking at the blends in the baby food aisle at the grocery store.
